Evening
all...
So for
those of you that follow me on Twitter and/or Instagram, you may have seen that
last weekend I popped into Boots to get a few bits. Along with the general buys
like shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, cream etc. I picked up a few makeup items.
I was
in need of a new eyebrow palette and concealer and ended up picking out a few
extras along the way. Before writing a post, I wanted to test each product out
so I knew just what it was I was reviewing. So for the past week I have been
using ALL of these in my everyday
makeup and thus brings us to today's post...
COLLECTION EYEBROW KIT
Let's
starts with something I've already used before. This is my second palette of
this eyebrow kit and although I was a little skeptical of using it the first
time around (since it was a brand I
wasn't too keen on), I was impressed with how good it did the job.
The kit
comes with three different shades of brow powder, setting gel and a double
ended brush for application. As you can see from the photo below, it's safe to
say my first palette got its fair use out of it. While there is still plenty of
powder left over, I decided after a year of having it (yup that's right a whole year), I deserved a fresh one. You can
also tell the medium shade was used the most, but once that one had gone I was
still able to use the darker shade which I was surprised about. I didn't think
I'd be able to get away with using such a dark tone, but mixed and blended with
the lightest, I was able to get away with it. Overall, if you’re looking for a
new brow palette, I would recommend giving this one a go. At such an affordable
price why not?
RIMMEL PROFESSIONAL EYEBROW PENCIL £2.99
Another
one I have used in the past. Before I found the Collection Eyebrow Palette,
this pencil was always my "go
to". Love how easy it is to use, not a lot of pressure is needed to
get coverage and since its in pencil form, it's great for the more "natural" hair-stroke look.
Since I hadn't used it in a while, I thought I'd repurchase one and combine it
with the palette. So far it's going great, the only pain is having to sharpen
it all the time for that "sharp
point". One mistake I did make was picking up the shade I did... It
wasn't until I got home that I remembered I used to use the darker shade. This
particular shade wouldn't be dark enough for me on its own, but since I am
combining with the brow kit it's not a problem.
L'OREAL EYEBROW ARTIST PLUMPER £5.99
Now when I was browsing the Boots
website just to see their choice of other brow kits available, I saw this item
pop up. After reading through some of the reviews online I decided to pick one
up to give it a go. I have to say I'm not completely
convinced yet. BUT I think that is
my own fault... I ended up picking up the clear colour, whereas I should have
probably picked up one of the brown shades. I feel that it you have naturally
full eyebrows, where you only have to pencil in a few bits here and there; the
clear one may be great for you. Unfortunately for me I don't have huge eyebrows to work with on their own,
so while this gel does help get them into shape before applying the powder and
making them look slightly fuller,
it's not a product I could use on its own. Again though, combined with the two
products mentioned above, it works just fine.
SEVENTEEN STAY TIME CONCEALER £4.49
I am in love with this product! My only disappointment, is why didn’t it
come into my life sooner? Previously, I’ve used the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer and while it was good covering
for any blemishes, I couldn’t use it under my eyes as my makeup wouldn’t set
ontop of it very well and would start to crease very quickly. That and the fact
it states it can be used as a highlighter, but again I wasn’t impressed with
that so called “quality” of it. So back
to the Seventeen concealer… Its fab! Really easy to apply as its in liquid
form. Not too thick and not too runny. Great tone, I have it in the lightest
shade; Fair and it really blends in great with my skintone. It covers
all my blemishes easily and conceals my dark circles under my eyes AND it doesn’t
make up makeup crease after a short period of time. In fact, even by the end of
the day its still put!
NATURAL COLLECTION LIP LINER £1.99
Moving onto the lips now… I was in need of a brown lip liner and for the
low price of £1.99 I thought I would give this one a go. I am pretty impressed.
Great colour and high pigmentation; no need to press down really hard, or go
over the line loads of times! I purchased the shade; Expresso and the colour
is great. Think I will definitely give their other colours a go at some point.
REVLON COLOURBURST MATTE BALM £7.99
Not too sure about this one. I really fancied a nice matte, brown
lipstick and believe it or not, out of all the brands my local Boots sold, this was the only one! Its
really easy to apply, where its in a crayon sort of form, its glides on easily
and is actually quiet moisturising when its first applied and dries matte. Not
sure if I just picked up a funny one, but it has a weird smell to it. Kind of
minty/lemony, but not in the nicest ways. Anyway… as for the wear, it doesn’t last
very long at all. After a few hours it disappears and if you drink/eat with it
on, don’t expect it to last! The shade I'm using is; Fierce. Anyone else tried this product before and have a different
experience?
That’s it for todays post guys, hope you enjoyed it? If any of you have
used any of the products mentioned, id love to hear what you think of them; love or hate?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Love the before and after photos of the concealer - you can actually see it makes such a difference! I really want to try it out now haha. Shame that the lip crayon doesn't last long as it looks like such a nice colour just for everyday wear!

Thanks hun:) I would honestly recommend you give it a go and see how it works for yourself. Obviously everyone is different, but it works wonders for me! And yes you're right, the lip crayon is great for everyday use, just annoying having to re-apply so often!. Love Hannah xx
DeleteGreat haul, girlie! You definitely picked up products I've heard great things about. I actually haven't tried them but I think I will pick up that concealer from Seventeen next time I'm in Boots! The eye brow kit looks lovely as well.

Thanks for passing by hun.. I think this particular one would be great on grown out eyebrows! It's just something I can't seem to grow much of since I used to destroy them as a teen haha! As for the matte balms, it's interesting to know you like your one, I love the colour of mine, just not the lasting time. Does yours stay on for long? Love Hannah xx
DeleteThe collection eyebrow kit looks well and truly loved, I don't check out many of their products either so it's always nice to see other bloggers opinions on it! xx
