COHORTED | Beauty Subscription Box | Be You Be Beautiful | September Box

Another month has passed, and therefore that means another box :) If you saw my previous post when I received the August edition HERE, you will know that August's box was my first ever box.
When I signed up for the August box, I accidentally signed up for Septembers too... Oops! But oh well it meant I had a nice surprise coming my way at the beginning of September.

Before I continue I'm afraid I'm about to have a little moan.. On their site, they explain that once you sign up, you will receive your box between to 5th-10th of each month. By the 12th I still hadn't received my box, hadn't been sent a dispatch email and had not been contacted by the company to say there was a delay. Luckily, it seemed like I wasn't alone and a load of other customers were in the same boat as myself. Finally half past bloody 7 Saturday morning (18th) the postman delivered my box. So yeah wasn't too impressed with how that little situation was dealt with, or more like not dealt with. Plus a little detail was missing from my box... My hand tied ribbon. May sound like a petty thing to complain about, but they seem to pride themselves in their 'boxes with hand - tied ribbon', was just a shame to not see it on this box.

Moving on..
September's box was definitely better (in my opinion), than the August box.
In this month's box, we received two hair products from a company called Percy & Reed. A dry shampoo and a recovery mask. I've never heard of the company before and although I currently use Batiste dry shampoo, I'm interested to give this one a try and see if it's any better, or just as good as the one I use at the moment.
The overnight recovery treatment is something I'm excited to try. I love the idea of hair masks, but often get put off but the wetness of the hair overnight and the mess they can sometimes leave on your pillow. So when I read the back of the tube and realised that the product dries once it's been rubbed in, I knew I wanted to put it to the test. I haven't got around to trying it out just yet, but will be sure to let you know if it works.

Next up are two products I'm not too keen on...
The first is a nail varnish by KURE Bazaar. It's not so much that I dislike the nail varnish itself, it's a nice natural base/manicure colour. It's more the fact, that I feel as though Cohorted could have been a little bolder and gone for a brighter, warm colour, now that we're in Autumn. Maybe a vibrant red or a warm berry colour? Again that's just my personal opinion.

The second product that I wasn't too impressed with, is the small tester tube of MAC false lashes. When I first saw the tube, I honestly thought it was eyelash glue and they had missed out the eyelashes from my box *oops*! But I was wrong and once I opened it, it was clear that it was in fact mascara. The tube it comes in just seems to look and feel very cheap. I'm not sure if I'll be using it for myself. I've noticed a really strong smell coming from the tube and I'm sure mascara that smells that bad, can't be good for your lashes? I know most mascaras do have a slight scent to them, but without smelling it in person; you're going to have to take my word for it that this seems to be stronger than most others.
Finally, we have the Land Down Under eyeshadow palette from Cargo Cosmetics. I love eyeshadow palettes and was really excited to see one was added in this month's box. Again, the company is one I haven't heard of before, but after having a brief look on the back of the packaging, I was happy to see the colours were definitely "me"!
Lovely colours, great mix for Autumn. Light and darker shades of brown, khaki, an almost copper colour; all of which will work really well together. The only colours I'm not a huge fan on are the blues. Don't get me wrong they are great colours. But as gorgeous as they are, blue unfortunately just isn't my colour.
A bonus for me, is that the palette has a mix of both matte and shimmer shadows. It's always nice to have options in a palette.

What do you think? Are there any products from September's box you would love to try? Do you have the MAC false lashes mascara? What do you think of it?

Love Hannah xx
